Worldship Files: Underside

Erik Schubach

Fiction / Science Fiction / Space Opera

When the Earth is threatened by a slowly expanding sun, mankind embarks upon a mission to send a mammoth Worldship to settle a new planet across the stars. The preternatural races step out of hiding to work with the humans to save what they can from their dying world. With the aid of the Fae, shape shifters, Vampires, and other creatures of supernatural lore, the Worldship, Leviathan, is complete one thousand years later.

In the aftermath of the alien Contagion aboard the Leviathan, things have slowly been returning to the new normal. As Enforcer Knith Shade and her family are enjoying some family time, Knith is approached by the Summer Maiden.

The Greater Fae woman wants her to investigate the mysterious disappearances in a homeless camp in the Underside of the D-Ring bulkhead levels of Beta-Stack. In particular the disappearance of a certain Elf Halfling social worker, Doctor Phoebe Harrison, who has been working with the homeless people on board.

While meeting with a mysterious protector of the homeless camp, who seems to be able to bypass even the quantum encryption of Mother's core systems with ease, the camp is overrun by Vampires. Knith finds herself not only in a fight for her life, but her career as well.
