Por otro lado, se ha desarrollado una nueva generación de microsusceptómetros SQUID de 30 µm de diámetro que ha permitido estudiar el comportamiento de muestras de tamaño nanométrico como un primer paso para verificar el comportamiento de estos SMM aislados de su medio cristalino.
