Putting "Business" into "Law"

A playbook for the In-House Legal Counsel

Sharona Mogan

Law / Legal Education

A playbook for any legal counsel, lawyer who is looking to make the move in-house, lawyers with corporate clients or law students exploring an in-house career.

This book provides practical strategies to navigate your role as an in-house legal counsel - including insights on what you can expect in your role as a legal counsel, contents on communications skills for the business environment, handling negotiations, and being a business partner.

When I first started in-house work – there was little or almost no guide on what was I to expect. Law schools generally prepped us for litigation work and there I was in my first in-house job with a multi-national company having never negotiated a contract.

I earnestly champion the need for law schools to inculcate business and contract negotiation skills as part of their syllabus.

Until we get there – I hope my book is of useful reference to you.
