Mission: Grandeur

W. W. Nagle

Fiction / Fantasy / General

Debut author W.W. Nagle invites you into the young adult fantasy realm of MISSION: GRANDEUR.

Life is not ideal in Grandeur since the devastating war with the barbarians. The whole country now hides behind a huge fence, trapped alone in fear and hatred of the outside world. Fifteen year old Schott, the son of a carpenter, serves his time on guard duty at the fence and tries to learn his father’s trade in his spare time. He leads pretty much the typical life of a Grandeurian teen.

But things are going to change for Schott. He is about to turn sixteen and that means it is time to leave the safety of Grandeur. At sixteen all Grandeurians leave their homes, pass through the fence and spend one year living off the land while searching for Jona, former Grandeurian and now Chief Enemy of the State. Everyone must try to find him and kill him. But many who leave on their quest never come back. And to make matters worse, whole families are now disappearing from inside Grandeur, seemingly into thin air. Many blame the disappearances on Jona.

Schott has big plans for success on his quest. He thinks he will finally be the one to find and kill Jona. Along the way he learns several harsh truths about Grandeur and finds that his country’s worst enemies might just be their only real friends…
