At sixteen all Grandeurians leave their homes, pass through the fence and spend one year living off the land while searching for Jona, former Grandeurian and now Chief Enemy of the State. Everyone must try to find him and kill him. But many who leave on their quest never come back. And to make matters worse, whole families are now disappearing from inside Grandeur, seemingly into thin air. Many blame the disappearances on Jona.
