A city mouse ends up going on an unexpected adventure to a nursery. He gets knocked over the head by a sassy girl in charge of a team of little mice. They teach him how to garden and he entertains them with stories about the city, good food and holidays like Christmas. They grow very attached over time but when Johnny gets an opportunity to leave for the city he takes off abruptly without a goodbye. Back in the city he realizes he misses them and makes a plan to go back and ask for their forgiveness and tell them he wants to be part of their family. He packs his bag full of presents and snacks to go give them a Christmas they have never had. In the end, he is gifted with a tree ornament that looks like him. The decoration ends up on the human Christmas tree years later reminding everyone what Christmas is all about. Love and family.
