These records established Demeret’s prominence in golf from the mid-1930s through the 1980s and led to his work as the host of All-Star Golf and Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf. An exuberant character, Demaret was known for his flamboyant attire and famous friends. In the year 2000, both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest named him one of the most important players ever in the game.
