In this moving book, Chilean actress Leonor Varela, who now lives in the United States, tells the true story of her son Matteo, diagnosed with Leukodystrophy AGS at four months old. She never accepted the doctors’ diagnosis and undertook a physical, emotional, and spiritual fight to save his life.
Along the way— to understand what was happening, to see her son as a teacher, and to pick herself up again— she left an indelible record of a mother's love, and began to write to relieve her anxiety, fears, and grief. “But at the same time, there was a purpose in my writing. To make a memory of the immeasurable, of the certainty that nobody can take away our loved ones, that they live inside us. That death is a veil, but our souls, who we are in essence, remain united.”
