Haunted by the ghost of the man his father killed, Eddie spends his days hiding from his past, his drinking problem, and his feelings for his best friend. He has known for years that his mom and sister might be alive, but with no clues to find them he is trapped in perpetual limbo between the childhood home he lost and the future he wishes he had.

You’d think the most important thing in VJ’s life would be the ghosts he saw or the estate he’s supposed to inherit, but VJ’s been in love with Eddie for as long as he can remember and nothing else seems to matter if Eddie leaves Falkhus forever. But there’s a problem: Eddie is his adopted brother and his brother’s best friend. Worse, he thinks of Eddie’s dad, Edvard, as his own (he can see his ghost after all…). Time is running out, and Eddie may never know how VJ truly feels. VJ has to make this last chance count.

With only a few weeks left of summer, Edvard’s ghost brings news of Eddie’s mom and sister, prompting the pair to leave behind the world they know. When they discover neither of them is human, an unexpected challenge confronts them. The price of failure is life itself. Will they rise together, or will they fall like their fathers?

Hover & Sound takes place in the Pink Universe, a timeline where Chainskull Death never happened and Niels and Eddie never left school.
