Agony Of The City

Kay Kwon

Fiction / Romance / General

On the way home, Wilfred finally looked the phone again, and there were only messages from Julia. Wilfred waited the messages from Sabrina, but he never received anything. Wilfred replied to Julia meaninglessly and realized that he changed. Futility was the temperature of the city and the ‘realistic’ released him from the weight that he was hanging.

On the side of the road, he smelt the cigarette stench and he felt disgusted and dizzy. He ran to his home and once he went into his apartment, he found the breakfast that he made was still on the table. The memo he left was at the same place and he realized where the futility came from. He didn’t miss Sabrina at all just like how he spent meaningless night after the breakup. Wilfred saw the ash of the photo under the bed and he swept it away with the bloom.

Wilfred cleaned his home, and he realized that his house was empty. There was only one couch and small coffee table, one small dining table in the kitchen, 2 chairs for the dining table, one bed in his den and one shelf for the rubbish like decorations. The empty spots were expecting for someone’s existence but it was never filled.
